Obstetrical Care

We know that your pregnancy is an important event in your life. That is why our board certified obstetricians and certified nurse midwives have extensive training, education, and a commitment to excellence for you and your baby. At Warren OBGYN and Warren General Hospital, you will find advanced technology and services available along with talented and dedicated health care professionals who are skilled in the discipline of your care and sensitive to your needs during this time in your life. They will see you through your prenatal and postpartum care.

The maternity unit at Warren General Hospital is made up of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) suites that are spacious and comfortable, allowing you to labor, deliver, and recover all in the same private room. The suites offer private bathrooms and showers, rocking chairs, radios, televisions, micro-fridges, and telephones. There is room for family members you wish to be with you during this special time.

You and your provider will determine together your best course of pain management from medication to an epidural. 24-hour anesthesia service is available to ensure minimizing your discomfort. In-unit surgical suites are available for cesarean or high-risk deliveries.

Rooming in is the standard of care, allowing your baby to stay with you in your suite. A well-staffed, well-equipped infant nursery is available to take care of infants with special needs or to allow for the special recovery needs of the mom. Electronic infant monitoring devices are in place to ensure infant safety and security.

A nurse dedicated to the care of you and your baby will answer your questions and offer advice on anything from breast-feeding to postpartum concerns to the daily care of your newborn.
